Kawasaki has revealed the Z300 in India, a naked streetfighter built on the Ninja 300. The bike was shown at an event in Bengaluru on 12 October 2026. Bookings open on 19 October, and Kawasaki will announce the price, variants and full specifications on 20 October.
The Z300 uses the Ninja 300’s 296cc parallel-twin engine but adds a TFT screen with smartphone connectivity, which the Ninja 300 does not get. Some reports call it the Ninja Z300, but it belongs to Kawasaki’s Z range of naked bikes. Until the official spec sheet is out, treat any detail not listed below as expected rather than confirmed.
When will the Kawasaki Z300 launch in India?
Kawasaki has laid out a short timeline. After the Bengaluru reveal, the bike will be shown in Mumbai and Pune before bookings open.

What engine does the Kawasaki Z300 get?
The Z300 shares its engine with the Ninja 300: a 296cc, liquid-cooled, parallel-twin unit paired with a 6-speed gearbox. Reports quote about 39 hp and 26.1 Nm, the same figures as the Ninja 300. A twin-cylinder engine is smoother than the single-cylinder engines most bikes in this class use, which helps on long highway runs.
The suspension, brakes and wheels are also expected to come from the Ninja 300: a telescopic front fork, a rear monoshock, 17-inch alloy wheels and disc brakes at both ends with dual-channel ABS. Kawasaki will confirm these on 20 October.

What does the Kawasaki Z300 look like?
The styling takes cues from Kawasaki’s bigger Z900. Without the Ninja 300’s full fairing, the Z300 looks more aggressive and shows off its engine.
The wide, upright handlebar puts the rider in a more relaxed position than the Ninja 300. That suits daily city riding and weekend trips better than a sports bike’s forward-leaning stance. At launch the bike comes in green and black.
What will the Kawasaki Z300 cost?
Kawasaki has not announced the price. The Ninja 300, which shares its engine and frame, costs about Rs 3.34 lakh ex-showroom. A naked version usually costs less than its faired sibling, so the Z300 is expected to be priced below the Ninja 300.
Price will decide how well it sells. It will compete with the KTM 390 Duke and the TVS Apache RTR 310, both popular naked bikes. Both of those rivals use single-cylinder engines, so a price close to Rs 3 lakh would make the twin-cylinder Z300 a strong option. We will update this story with the official price on 20 October.
Should you wait for the Z300 or buy the Ninja 300?
If you mostly ride in the city and want a comfortable upright position and a modern TFT screen, it makes sense to wait a week for the Z300’s price. If you ride long distances on highways, the Ninja 300’s fairing gives better wind protection at speed.
Both bikes share the same engine, so performance should be very similar. The choice comes down to riding position, features and price. You can see more new launches on our bike news page.
Can defence personnel buy the Kawasaki Z300 through CSD?
There is no word yet on whether the Z300 will be sold through the Canteen Stores Department. New models that do reach the CSD list usually appear a few weeks after their market launch, as with the Yamaha R2 and its CSD listing.
